Can you do a sample edit?

Yes! I will do a sample edit of up to 1,000 words at no cost to you.

Please keep in mind that a sample of a developmental edit will be limited to the information at hand. A complete developmental edit requires the full manuscript as it contains information about the plot, character development, continuity, etc.

Do you have a contract?

I have a contract for every package. Before any work begins, the contract must be signed and returned to me. I will then sign it and provide you with a copy.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I understand that the cost of editing can sometimes be overwhelming. That’s why I offer payment plans for all of my services.

Is there a down payment?

If you are not using a payment plan, 50% of the total cost is due before any work begins.

The remaining 50% is due before the work is returned to you. The dates will be specified in the contract.

What format do you accept?

Standard manuscript format:

  • Word document (.doc/.docx)
  • Font: Standard Font
    • Times New Roman (preferred)
    • Arial
  • 1-inch margins on all sides
  • 0.5-inch paragraph indentations
  • Double-spaced
  • Not justified (align left)
  • Black text, white background
  • Title page:
    • Title
    • Full name
    • Email address
    • Exact word count
  • Header:
    • Aligned right

What if my manuscript isn’t ready by the agreed-upon date?

I understand that life happens. As long as you provide a 30-day advanced notice of any changes in date, you can reschedule without incurring additional fees. You also have to understand that I have a schedule to keep and other clients to work with, so I only allow a schedule change once.
